At Clay Muse, our mission is to create handcrafted ceramic pieces that bring the beauty of nature into everyday life. We believe in the power of functional art to transform daily rituals into moments of mindfulness and appreciation.

Each piece we create is thoughtfully designed and meticulously crafted to honor the organic forms that inspire us. We embrace the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi, finding beauty in imperfection and celebrating the unique character that emerges through the handcrafting process.

Clay Muse was founded by a group of ceramic artists who share a passion for creating objects that connect people with nature and the handmade. Our small team brings together diverse influences and techniques, but we share a common dedication to quality craftsmanship and sustainable practices.

We work collaboratively in our studio, drawing inspiration from the natural landscape that surrounds us. Each team member brings their unique perspective and expertise, contributing to a creative environment where experimentation and skill-sharing flourish.

Each Clay Muse piece begins with inspiration from the natural world—a curved leaf, the texture of tree bark, the flow of a stream. From there, we sketch and prototype, refining our designs before beginning the creation process.

We work primarily with stoneware clay, chosen for its durability and earthy character. Each piece is hand-thrown on the wheel or hand-built, allowing us to respond intuitively to the clay as we shape it. After the initial forming, we carefully trim and finish each piece, adding texture and refining the form.

Our glazes are formulated in-house, using non-toxic materials to create a palette inspired by natural elements. After glazing, pieces undergo a high-temperature firing in our kiln, transforming soft clay into durable ceramic that will last for generations.
